Dejan Lovren comments on Liverpool’s title hopes this season

Dejan Lovren feels that Liverpool have proved themselves to be title contenders this season

Dejan Lovren believes that Liverpool have already shown themselves to be in the race for the Premier League title this season.

The Reds have earned plenty of praise for their strong start to what is Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.

Liverpool have already beaten the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City this term and earned draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Klopp has been tasked with steering Liverpool back into the top four of the Premier League after their disappointing eighth-placed finish last season.

And Lovren believes that the Reds are showing themselves to be genuine contenders for the top flight crown.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool’s website, Lovren said: “It’s good when you are in the race. You have a better chance to finish well than if you are sixth or seventh. You know everything is possible.

“Every game is a ‘win’ game for us – we have the quality to beat everyone, when you look at the teams we have played already. It’s just about a winning mentality. If we can keep that, at the end of the season we can be proud.”
