Dejan Lovren: Everyone at Liverpool wants to be like Jurgen Klopp
Dejan Lovren reveals that all of Liverpool's players are drawing inspiration from their manager
Dejan Lovren has revealed that all of Liverpool’s players want to copy Jurgen Klopp’s “perfectionism” this season.
The German coach has just celebrated his first year in charge at Anfield after he was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor on Merseyside back in October 2015.
The Reds have made a very strong start to the new season and currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League table, just two points behind leaders Manchester City after two games.
Klopp was unable to guide Liverpool to a trophy last season despite the Reds having reached the Europa League and League Cup finals.
However, the Merseyside outfit will harbour ambitions of breaking into the Premier League’s top four this term after their eighth-placed finish last season.
And Lovren has lifted the lid on how he and his Liverpool team-mates feel about their manager.
Lovren is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “He is a perfectionist and so everyone wants to be like him.
“You want to give perfection during training and give 100 per cent on the pitch. It is great to see how intense he is on the touchline.”
Liverpool will host Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League in their next game on Monday 17 October.
