Erik Lamela makes promise to Tottenham supporters
The Tottenham midfielder promises to keep fighting for the north London side's cause
Erik Lamela has promised to continue working hard for the Tottenham Hotspur team even if the midfielder is struggling to maintain his high standards.
The Argentina international was part of the Tottenham side that eased to a 2-0 win against Premier League leaders Manchester City at White Hart Lane ahead of the international break.
Lamela had the chance to add a third from the penalty spot in the second half in north London but the South American missed his attempt after a disagreement with team-mate Son Heung-min.
The former Roma midfielder has scored one goal and has made one assist in seven Premier League appearances so far this season.
And Lamela has promised Tottenham supporters that he will continue to work hard for the north London outfit even if the Argentinian is struggling to perform.
“I try to do my best every game and if I can’t always play well, I try to run and run and always help the team. We always need to show that we want to win,” Lamela told Tottenham’s website.
Tottenham are in second place in the Premier League table and a point behind leaders Manchester City.
Spurs will make the trip to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
