Former Arsenal star gushes with praise for new Man United signing
Kolo Toure reveals that he is a keen admirer of Manchester United defender Eric Bailly
Kolo Toure believes that Eric Bailly has been making his country proud since his transfer to Manchester United over the summer.
The Ivorian defender has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils’ first team since becoming Jose Mourinho’s first signing at Old Trafford.
Bailly has earned plenty of praise for his solid performances at the back since making his first few appearances for United.
The 22-year-old has started each one of United’s seven Premier League games so far this season and looks to have adapted to the rigours of English football with ease.
And former Arsenal defender Toure has admitted that he is a keen admirer of the new Manchester United man.
Speaking in an interview with United Review, Toure said: “Eric started brilliantly and the whole of our country is really, really happy and we are all really proud of him.
“We knew before his transfer that he has great quality because he was playing with Villarreal, but it takes a lot to play for a big club like United and do what he’s doing right now.
“We are so proud that he is playing for a big club in the best league in the world, playing in tough games against tough strikers. He has been outstanding overall and that shows the quality the boy has. We are all really proud of what he’s doing right now, and we just pray he carries on.”
Bailly will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action after the international break with a tricky trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool.
United were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Stoke City at Old Trafford last weekend.
