Former defender reveals Man United’s ‘one negative’
Paul Pogba was the one negative for Manchester United this weekend, according to Kevin Kilbane
Paul Pogba’s display was the one “negative” in Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, according to Kevin Kilbane.
The France international struggled to make an impression in the Premier League clash despite starting alongside Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera instead of the more defensive-minded Marouane Fellaini.
Pogba finished with a pass completion of 89 per cent and had a total of six shots on goal during the stalemate. The former Juventus man even made three successful dribbles and won three tackles.
However, former Everton defender Kilbane, who was at Old Trafford for Sunday’s clash, insisted that Pogba is still struggling to find his feet in Jose Mourinho’s side.
“My one negative is Paul Pogba. He isn’t at it,” Kilbane told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“He has spells in games, albeit for a minute or two, where you see a little magic. He wasn’t at it again.”
Pogba moved to United in a world-record £89m move from Serie A giants Juventus in August after months of speculation linking the France midfielder with a move to Manchester.
The France star won four successive Serie A titles with the Turin side after United sold Pogba to the Italian champions in a reported £800,000 deal under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012.
