Former Man United striker delivers blunt verdict on Chelsea’s top-four prospects
Antonio Conte's Chelsea won't finish in the Premier League's top four, according to Alan Brazil
Alan Brazil has ruled out Chelsea finishing in the Premier League’s top four this season.
The west London side ended a three-game winless run on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 2-0 victory over Mike Phelan’s Hull City side at the KCOM Stadium.
Chelsea’s comfortable victory left the west London side in seventh place and six points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City after seven games.
Antonio Conte made a brilliant start to his Chelsea reign after the Blues managed to beat West Ham United, Watford and Burnley in their opening three Premier League games.
However, Chelsea dropped their first points of the season in a 2-2 draw with Swansea City before a 2-1 loss to top-four rivals Liverpool at Stamford Bridge last month.
Conte’s side produced an even more disappointing performance at the Emirates Stadium in their penultimate game before the international break after a 3-0 loss to Arsenal.
Discussing Chelsea’s chances of a top-four finish on Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, the former United striker ruled out Conte’s men securing a Champiins League qualification spot.
“I don’t think the top four [for Chelsea],” Brazil said.
