Gary Neville admits that new Man United signing looks ‘confused’

Gary Neville delivers his verdict on Paul Pogba's start to life back at Manchester United

Gary Neville has admitted that Paul Pogba looks to be “confused” by his role in the Manchester United team this season.

The French midfielder is currently getting to grips with life at Old Trafford after he returned to the club from Juventus in a world-record transfer deal over the summer.

Pogba is yet to hit top gear for the Red Devils and was unable to prevent United from slipping to a demoralising 4-0 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

Neville believes that Pogba is not yet sure about his current role in the Manchester United team after reflecting on the France international’s performance at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said: “Pogba is no doubt confused. He has been signed for such a huge fee and I look at him and it was a difficult day for him.

“It was difficult for him at times at Anfield as a No 10, so at the moment, I think Jose Mourinho is trying to find a way to incorporate him and when you sign a player for that level of money, you somehow have to make it fit.”

Manchester United return to Premier League action with a home clash against Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
