Gary Neville explains why Chelsea should be full of confidence

Gary Neville has his say on Chelsea after their emphatic win over Manchester United at the weekend

Gary Neville believes that Chelsea can take huge amounts of confidence from their thrashing of Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues produced a sparkling display as they brushed aside Jose Mourinho’s men and claimed the three points against the Red Devils with an emphatic 4-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have been in good form in recent weeks and have won their last three games in the Premier League to leave them just one point behind leaders Manchester City after nine games.

The west London side are aiming to bounce back from their disastrous 10th-placed finish in the top flight last season under new boss Antonio Conte.

And former Manchester United defender Neville feels that there are plenty of reasons to be positive for Chelsea fans at the moment.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said: “Chelsea can have great confidence going forward. Antonio Conte has got time, Jose Mourinho hasn’t.

“This is not comparing apples and apples, but Mourinho is rebounding off one game, three days later into another. That is completely different to having three weeks to prepare.”
