The French midfielder came up against his former employers and was in fine form as he helped Antonio Conte’s men secure an impressive victory over the defending Premier League champions in west London.
Kante joined Chelsea from Leicester in the summer transfer window as one of Conte’s first signings and has been a regular fixture in the Blues’ starting line-up this term.
One criticism that has been levelled at Kante in the past is a perceived lack of creativity to his game.
However, former Liverpool star Souness believes that Kante has shown a willingness to improve that side of his game.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the final whistle on Saturday, Souness said: “I saw a different side of N’Golo Kante [against Leicester].
“I can never remember him scoring a goal or getting a shot on goal [in the past].
“He had a variation in his passing that I haven’t witnessed before. He had a willingness to get forward. He was very, very good.”
Kante and his Chelsea team-mates return to Premier League action next weekend with a home clash against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
