Granit Xhaka did not comment on his sending off on social media after Arsenal's 3-2 win over Swansea
Granit Xhaka made no reference to the fact that he was sent off during Arsenal’s win over Swansea on Saturday via a post on social media.
The Swiss midfielder was given his marching orders in the second half for a petulant trip before Arsenal went on to claim a 3-2 victory over the Swans at The Emirates.
The straight red card means that Xhaka is set to be suspended for Arsenal’s next three domestic games – against Middlesbrough, Reading and Sunderland.
However, the 23-year-old chose not to mention his sending off with his post on Instagram after the game, preferring to praise his team-mates for their performance.
Xhaka posted the picture above on his personal account and wrote: “Three very important points today and I’m proud of my team and thank the fans for their massive support. 👍 ⚓#GX29”
The win made it six in a row for Arsenal in the Premier League and lifted them up to second in the table, level on points with leaders Manchester City.
Xhaka will be hoping to feature when Arsenal host Ludogorets in the Champions League on Wednesday night at The Emirates.
