The Swiss midfielder was suspended for the game but was at The Emirates to watch Arsenal in action
Granit Xhaka has taken to social media to offer his reaction to Arsenal’s disappointing goalless draw with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Xhaka served the first game of his three-match domestic suspension on Saturday and sat out the clash after his red card in the victory over Swansea City last weekend.
The Swiss midfielder was at the game in his box to watch the north London side in action but Arsene Wenger’s men were unable to break down the stubborn visitors at The Emirates.
However, the 23-year-old had a positive message for his team-mates after the final whistle following the disappointing result.
Xhaka posted the picture above of his view of the game on Instagram and wrote the caption: “Unfortunately only one point today. The guys gave their maximum and fought hard. Now it’s time to focus on the next match #Arsenal ⚓#GX29#SlayTheNextGiant #UnderArmour”
Arsenal return to League Cup action on Tuesday night with a home clash against Reading in the third round.
The north London side finished second in the Premier League last season and 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
