Harry Redknapp has warned Arsenal and Manchester City not to write off Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

Antonio Conte’s Blues players were talked up as title challengers after the west London side beat West Ham United, Watford and Burnley in their opening three Premier League games of the 2016-17 season.

However, Chelsea failed to win a top-flight game in September – a run which started with a 2-2 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The west Londoners went on to lose 2-1 to top-four rivals Liverpool before a 3-0 defeat by London neighbours Arsenal despite the addition of David Luiz to their defence.

Conte’s side have regrouped in recent weeks – though, easing to a 2-0 win at Hull City before Saturday’s 3-0 victory over defending Premier League champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Asked for his thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur’s prospects of winning the Premier League title on BT Sport’s Premier League tonight show, Redknapp singled out another London club as challengers:

“I wouldn’t write Chelsea off.”
