Ian Wright: Why Tottenham worry me as an Arsenal fan

The Arsenal legend insists Tottenham Hotspur are genuine Premier League title contenders

Ian Wright says Tottenham Hotspur have a steeliness to their mentality this season.

The Lilywhites left it late to rescue a point against West Bromwich Albion last weekend after former Spurs forward Nacer Chadli broke the deadlock at The Hawthorns.

However, England midfielder Dele Alli scored a late equaliser in the closing minutes of the Premier League clash to rescue a point for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Tottenham have the best defensive record in the Premier League and continue to find the back of the net despite Harry Kane’s ankle injury in September.

Former Arsenal striker Wright admitted that he is worried about the threat posed by Tottenham in the title race as Arsene Wenger looks to end his 12-year Premier League title drought.

“Tottenham still worry me. They’ve got a steel to them. They don’t give up. They’re contenders,” Wright told The Sun Goals app.

Tottenham challenged Leicester City for the Premier League title in the 2015-16 season before a four-game winless run to end the campaign saw Spurs limp over the line.
