The west London side have made a mixed start to the season under Antonio Conte after the Blues had initially won their opening three Premier League games thanks to victories over West Ham United, Watford and Burnley.
However, Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at Swansea City was followed by successive defeats by top-four rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in their quest to secure a return to Champions League football this term.
Leicester, meanwhile, are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table following defeats by Liverpool and Manchester United, despite winning the top-flight crown last term.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson believes Chelsea will emulate Liverpool and United and ease to a comfortable win against Claudio Ranieri’s side at Stamford Bridge.
“I think opponents have sussed out Leicester. When Liverpool ripped them to shreds, they squeezed hard and were nicking the ball for fun,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Leicester are not going to pass around you, and when you are organised at the back, it’s difficult for them to create. I don’t see anything other than a Chelsea win.”
Chelsea are in seventh place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool.
The Blues are six points behind current leaders Manchester City.
