Jamie Carragher delivers glowing verdict on Man United star

Jame Carragher labels David De Gea as the best goalkeeper in the Premier League at the moment

Jamie Carragher has heaped praise on David De Gea following the goalkeeper’s impressive performance in Monday night’s goalless draw between Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Red Devils set out to frustrate Jurgen Klopp’s side and managed to restrict the home team to a low number of clear-cut chances.

However, De Gea produced when called upon and was quick to react to shots from both Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can at Anfield.

And speaking after the game, Carragher admitted that De Gea is up there with the best shot-stoppers in the world.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said of De Gea: “He is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League and we’re talking about one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”

Manchester United are now focused on their trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
