The Reds booked their place in the last eight of the competition with a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Leeds, meanwhile, secured their spot with a victory over Norwich City at Elland Road.

The two teams will now do battle for a place in the semi-finals after they were pitted against each other in Wednesday night’s EFL Cup draw.

Carragher was asked by one fan on Twitter whether he thought it would be an “easy” tie against Leeds, and the former Liverpool defender gave his take.

He tweeted:

Liverpool – who are third in the table – are now firmly focused on their trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday evening as they look to continue their good recent run of form.
