Jamie Redknapp has warned Paul Pogba that it is time he stepped up and performed for Manchester United during Monday’s crunch clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

The France midfielder has thus far failed to produce consistent performances for Jose Mourinho’s men since his world-record transfer to United from Juventus over the summer.

Pogba did open his Premier League account for the Red Devils by scoring in the 4-1 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford last month.

But most United fans would agree that Pogba is yet to hit top gear for his new club following his big-money move.

And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp feels that it is time for Pogba to start delivering on the big stage for the Red Devils ahead of Monday’s trip to Anfield.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “United paid a world-record fee for Pogba in the summer and it’s time for him to show what he’s made of and why the club spent over £90m on him.

“He’s shown glimpses of his ability so far and I’ve no doubt he’s going to be a brilliant player for United.

“But there’s a lot more to come and United will need him when they go into the lion’s den on Monday night. A game when top players must show their character.”
