Jamie Redknapp makes bold claim about Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho
Jamie Redknapp believes that the Brazilian is becoming the best number 10 in the Premier League on current form
Jamie Redknapp believes that Philippe Coutinho is establishing himself as the best number 10 in the Premier League following his sparkling performances for Liverpool this season.
The Brazilian playmaker has been in sparkling form for Jurgen Klopp’s men this term and helped to fire the Reds to a 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday at Anfield.
Coutinho has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents since his arrival at Anfield from Inter Milan in January 2013.
He has scored four goals and made two assists in the Premier League for Klopp’s men so far this season.
And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp believes that there is no other playmaker in the Premier League better than the Brazilian 24-year-old on current form.
Writing in his column for The Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “Philippe Coutinho was different class against West Brom. He scored a great goal and created three chances in Liverpool’s win.
“Compared with the players in his position at the other top-four sides, Coutinho is staking a claim to be the league’s best No 10.”
Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
