United are preparing to make the trip to Anfield to take on their bitter local rivals as the two teams get ready to do battle for the first time in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool have made a strong start to Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge and currently sit three points ahead of United heading into Monday’s clash.
United, meanwhile, have been less consistent since Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.
However, Lingard has revealed that he had already discussed Monday’s clash with some of his England team-mates ahead of next week’s big game.
Speaking in an interview with United’s website, Lingard said: “Of course we spoke about it and both sets of players know that it’ll be an intense game.
“I played there last season and it was a massive feeling to be part of the celebrations for Wayne’s winning goal. I’ve got the experience of playing and winning there, so hopefully I can show what I can do.”
Manchester United were 1-0 winners at Anfield last season thanks to Wayne Rooney’s winning goal back in January.
