Kevin Kilbane: How new Man United signing has impressed me
The former defender has been impressed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's impact at Manchester United
Kevin Kilbane says he has been impressed with Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Red Devils signed the 35-year-old towering centre-forward on a free transfer from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.
The former Sweden international has scored an impressive six times in 11 appearances in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side since his move to Old Traffod in July.
Ibrahimovic’s most-recent goal came in the second half of their 1-0 win against Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk in their second Europa League group-stage clash.
Former Everton and Republic of Ireland defender Kilbane explained why he has been so impressed with the United striker’s performance.
“I was impressed again. His movement was good. He doesn’t have long spells in matches. He showed bits of pace against Shawcross and Martins Indi. I just think he looks good,” Kilbane told Irish radio station Newstalk.
Ibrahimovic opened his United account in a 2-1 win against Leicester City in the Community Shield in August.
The Red Devils are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table after a 1-1 draw with Stoke City last time out.
United will make the short trip to their bitter rivals Liverpool in their next Premier League game at Anfield on Monday 17 October.
