Kevin Kilbane predicts where Liverpool will be in league table on Christmas Day

The former Irish defender believes Liverpool have a great chance to underline their title credentials

Kevin Kilbane believes Liverpool will be top of the Premier League table on Christmas Day.

The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City after nine top-flight games.

Liverpool were 2-1 winners against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Saturday evening thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho.

The Merseyside club are unbeaten since a 2-0 loss to promoted side Burnley in the second game of their Premier League campaign at Turf Moor.

Former Republic of Ireland international believes Liverpool have a great chance to move to the top of the table given their next seven fixtures.

“I think Liverpool will be top by Christmas,” Kilbane told Newstalk’s Off The Ball.

Liverpool make the trip to Crystal Palace this weekend before a home clash against Watford which is followed by a trip to Southampton.

The Reds will take on Sunderland, Bournemouth, West Ham and Middlesbrough in their subsequent four games before the Merseyside derby on 19 December.
