Kolo Toure: This new Man United signing can be a superstar
Kolo Toure is tipping Eric Bailly to become a key player for Manchester United in the seasons to come
Kolo Toure is backing Eric Bailly to develop into a key player for Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.
The Ivorian defender has been in fine form for his new employers since arriving at Old Trafford from Villarreal in the summer transfer window.
Bailly has started every one of United’s seven Premier League games so far this season and has proved himself to be capable of mixing it with the top-flight’s top players.
The defender looks to have swiftly adapted to the rigours of the Premier League following his move from Spain.
And Toure believes that Mourinho will be able to bring the best out of the defender this season and in the years to come.
Speaking in an interview with United Review, Toure said: “He can be a big, big player for United.
“He can be the future for United. What he’s doing right now is amazing and I think his future is really, really bright. He can be up there with the top defenders United have had.
“He’s young and will learn from working with one of the best managers in the world, and of course he’s going to get better. Definitely. He will improve and if he learns from Jose Mourinho then he can become one of the best defenders in the world.”
Bailly was unable to prevent United from stuttering to a frustrating 1-1 draw against Stoke City at Old Trafford last weekend.
The Red Devils travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in their next Premier League game after the international break.
