Jesse Lingard is confident that Manchester United have what it takes to claim all three points against Liverpool at Anfield on Monday night.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 1-1 draw with Stoke City before the international break.

That result left Jose Mourinho’s men in sixth place in the Premier League table and five points behind leaders Manchester City after seven games of the new campaign.

Much has been made of United’s stuttering form under new manager Jose Mourinho so far this season following his appointment back in May.

But England winger Lingard is confident that United can claim all three points from Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield on Monday night, despite admitting that he has been impressed by the Reds this season.

Speaking in an interview with United’s website, Lingard said: “Liverpool have been in good form so far and have scored a lot of goals, which is something we need to be wary of.

“It’ll be tough because they’ve got a lot talent in their group, but we know we’ve got talent in our own ranks and we’ll be pushing to win the game as it’s always good to get one over your rivals.”

Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season, while Liverpool ended up eighth in the top flight and without a trophy.
