Chris Smalling has told his Manchester United team-mates that there is no better place for the Red Devils to claim victory than Anfield.

Jose Mourinho’s men are currently preparing to travel to Merseyside to take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side as they bid to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

United were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Stoke City before the international break to leave them three points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils were 1-0 winners over Liverpool in their last Premier League trip to Anfield last season when Louis van Gaal was still in charge.

And Smalling believes that there is no better stadium for Manchester United players to claim the three points at.

Speaking in an interview with Manchester United’s website, Smalling said: “There’s definitely not [a better place for United to win].

“I’ve been lucky enough to win there a couple of times and it’s a great feeling when you make all those fans happy as we’ve done our jobs and can go back to Manchester with a smile on our faces.”
