Man United youngster makes promise to fans after signing new contract

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is determined to become a regular fixture in the Manchester United first team

Timothy Fosu-Mensah says he is determined to repay Manchester United’s faith in him after he signed a new contract with the Red Devils this week.

The 18-year-old defender put pen to paper on a new deal with the Red Devils on Wednesday to keep him at Old Trafford until at least June 2020.

The Dutchman joined United back in 2014 and has made 12 first-team appearances for the Premier League so far in his early career.

The defender has shown plenty of promise with his performances and his new deal includes an option to extend for a further year.

And Fosu-Mensah is ready to show what he is capable of in the coming months and years as he bids to earn a regular spot in the United first team.

Speaking in an interview with United’s website, Fosu-Mensah said: “I am delighted to have signed a new contract here at Manchester United.

“I have enjoyed every minute since I joined this great club and I want to continue the progress that I feel I have made so far.

“I am learning every day from the manager and the coaching staff. I appreciate the trust that the club has in me and I want to repay that with my performances on the pitch.”
