Mario Melchiot reacts to Diego Costa’s goal in Southampton v Chelsea
Mario Melchiot has his say on Diego Costa's goal as Chelsea beat Southampton at St Mary's
Mario Melchiot heaped praise on the “magical” Diego Costa after the Spanish striker helped to fire Chelsea to victory at Southampton on Sunday.
Eden Hazard fired Chelsea into an early sixth-minute lead at St Mary’s to give Antonio Conte’s men a 1-0 advantage heading into half-time.
And Costa then made it 2-0 with a stunning strike from 25 yards out in the 56th minute against the Saints.
Costa has now scored eight goals in 10 Premier League goals this season and looks to be rediscovering his top form under new manager Conte at Stamford Bridge.
And former Chelsea man Melchiot was thrilled by Costa’s strike on Sunday afternoon.
Melchiot tweeted shortly after the goal:
When you make something magic out of nothing. What a great strike by Costa. #mmlove #cfc
