Memphis Depay makes honest admission to Man United fans

Memphis Depay is determined to prove his worth at Manchester United this season

Memphis Depay has insisted that he is not happy about his lack of first-team action at Manchester United this season and is determined to improve his form.

The Netherlands winger has found his first team opportunities to be few and far between this season following Jose Mourinho’s appointment at the club in the summer.

Depay arrived at Old Trafford in May of last year from PSV Eindhoven amid much fanfare but has struggled to have a big impact at United.

The 22-year-old has only started one game for United so far this season, and that was in the League Cup.

However, the winger is determined to continue fighting for his place at Old Trafford and prove his doubters wrong.

Speaking in an interview with Dutch newspaper Metro Nieuws, quoted by United’s website, Depay said: “I am the same person and I know what I want.

“A supporting role is not for me.

“I’m not a player who is happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United. This is my dream club, but I want to play.”
