Mesut Ozil was in a reflective mood as he took to Instagram to reflect on the warmer days of summer 2016.

The Arsenal playmaker was given an extended summer holiday by his club after his involvement in Euro 2016 with Germany.

The Germany international clearly made the most of his time off, as he showed on his personal Instagram account with a post featuring his pet pug and Mercedes.

Ozil shared the video clip above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “#Throwback to #summer2016 ☀😎 The start of a little roadtrip with my mate Balboa 👍😉🐶 @mercedesbenz #TBT #fun #dog”

Ozil and his Arsenal team-mates are now preparing for their home Champions League clash against Ludogorets Razgrad at The Emirates on Wednesday night.

The Gunners head into the game looking to build on their 2-0 victory over FC Basel last month to leave them with four points from their opening two European games so far this season.
