Mesut Ozil: What I love about this new Arsenal signing
Mesut Ozil discusses the impact Granit Xhaka has had at Arsenal this season
Mesut Ozil has revealed his delight at seeing Granit Xhaka join Arsenal in the summer transfer window following his strong start to life at The Emirates.
Xhaka has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal side so far this season and has impressed in midfield for Arsene Wenger’s men.
The 23-year-old has been called upon regularly in recent weeks following injuries to both Francis Coquelin and Aaron Ramsey.
Xhaka has scored two impressive goals for the north London club against Hull City and Nottingham Forest in the League Cup.
And Ozil has been impressed by the Switzerland international’s attitude, as well as his long-range shooting skills.
Ozil is quoted as saying by The London Evening Standard: “He’s a really positive guy, very down to Earth and we’ve already seen that he can score goals. He’s got a left hammer!”
Both Ozil and Xhaka will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Swansea City at The Emirates.
The north London side are currently third in the table and two points behind leaders Manchester City.
