Micky Quinn boldly predicts where Chelsea will finish
The former Newcastle forward explains why Chelsea won't finish in the Premier League's top four
Micky Quinn has ruled out Chelsea finishing in the Premier League’s top four this season.
The Blues were initially talked up as potential Premier League title winners earlier this season after Antonio Conte won his opening three top-flight games in charge of the west London side.
Chelsea beat West Ham United, Watford and Burnley to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit level on points with Manchester City and Manchester United after three Premier League games.
However, Conte’s side failed to win a game in September after a 2-2 draw with Swansea City was followed by a 2-1 loss to Liverpool and a 3-0 defeat by Arsenal at The Emirates.
The Blues managed to end their three-game winless run on Saturday afternoon after goals from Diego Costa and Willian sealed a 2-0 win against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.
Former Newcastle midfielder Quinn doesn’t believe Chelsea will secure a place in the Premier League’s top four.
“I think they’re probably top six,” Quinn told Alan Brazil Up Front.
“When they play the big boys, they don’t look mobile enough. When they’re not at it, it’s only Costa who is very busy. The other players are hot and cold.”
Chelsea won the Premier League title in 2015 under Jose Mourinho.
