Micky Quinn boldly predicts where Tottenham will finish this season

The Newcastle legend is confident Tottenham Hotspur will finish in the Premier League's top four

Micky Quinn is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will finish in the Premier League’s top four this season.

The north London side have made an impressive start to the 2016-17 campaign after collecting 17 points from their opening seven top-flight games.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were 2-0 winners against Premier League leaders Manchester City in their most-recent outing thanks to Aleksandar Kolarov’s own goal and Dele Alli’s first-half strike.

The Lilywhites are currently in second place in the table and a point behind Pep Guardiola’s men ahead of their next Premier League trip to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 15 October.

Tottenham challenged Leicester City for most of the 2015-16 season before a four-game winless run to end the season left Spurs in third place behind the Foxes and Arsenal.

Former Newcastle striker Quinn doesn’t expect Spurs to repeat their end-of-season slump this term, however.

“They’ve got to be [thinking about a top-four finish]. They were top four last season,” Quinn told the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast.

“They went until the last two weeks of the season and then they faltered. They’ll have learnt from last season.”
