The German shot-stopper signed for the Reds from Mainz in the summer transfer window as Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to add competition for Simon Mignolet at Anfield.
Karius missed the first few games of the season after suffering a broken hand in pre-season training but has started Liverpool’s recent games in the Premier League.
The goalkeeper is currently adapting to life on Merseyside following his summer transfer as he gets used to the rigours of English football.
And Karius admits that the size of Liverpool’s global following instantly impressed him following his summer move.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports ahead of Monday’s game with Manchester United, Karius said: “I saw when we were on tour how big it is around the world, there’s lots of supporters.
“When you walk in the stadium the atmosphere is impressive and in the city a lot of people speak to you and recognise you. They are very passionate.”
Liverpool ended up in eighth place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy after losing the Europa League and League Cup finals.
