Victor Wanyama discusses Tottenham's Premier League title hopes under Mauricio Pochettino

Victor Wanyama is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will be able to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Spurs have made a strong start to the campaign and have already become the first team to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side so far this term.

Tottenham have been challenged with going one step further this season after they earned plenty of new admirers for their performances last term.

The Lilywhites challenged Leicester City for most of the campaign but ended up falling short, before eventually being pipped to second place by Arsenal on the final day of the campaign.

Wanyama is currently adapting to life at White Hart Lane following his summer transfer to the club.

And the Kenyan is confident that Spurs can pick up where they left off this season.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Wanyama said: “He [Mauricio Pochettino] always wants to improve, he doesn’t want to stand still

“They did very well last season but we need to improve. They set the bar very high and the challenge is to improve.

“The manager knows me very well and what I can do, that is why he brought me here.”
