Paul Ince: Why Arsenal can win the Premier League title

The former Manchester United midfielder believes Arsenal can challenge for the Premier League title this season

Paul Ince believes Arsenal capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have made an impressive start to the 2016-17 Premier League campaign despite losing 4-3 to top-four rivals Liverpool in their opening game at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal secured their most-impressive win of the season so far when Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil all scored in a 3-0 win against title rivals Chelsea in north London.

Arsene Wenger’s appear to be hitting top form after the Gunners were emphatic 6-0 winners against Bulgarian side Ludogorets in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s home clash against Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, former Manchester United midfielder Ince explained why Wenger’s squad should be able to launch a sustained challenge this term.

“They finished second last year,” Ince told Sky Sports on Friday morning.

“Now they’ve got Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil scoring goals. They might add one or two in January depending on where they are. There’s no reason why they can’t challenge this year.”

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
