Ander Herrera takes to social media to reflect on Manchester United's goalless draw with Liverpool on Monday

Ander Herrera has taken to social media to insist that he was proud of Manchester United’s performance in their goalless draw with Liverpool on Monday night.

Herrera played the full 90 minutes and was named man of the match as the Red Devils took a point from their clash with their bitter local rivals at Anfield.

United ended up adopting a defensive approach against their rivals as they successfully managed to frustrate Jurgen Klopp’s men and earn a point from the game.

Jose Mourinho had clearly set his team up to produce a strong defensive display and keep Liverpool’s attacking threat under control.

And although the Red Devils have been criticised for their negative approach, Herrera insisted that he was full of pride with the performance.

Herrera posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account after the game and wrote: “Proud of my TEAM, we worked really hard 🔴 @manchesterunited”
