Emre Can dedicated a birthday message to Mesut Ozil on Saturday afternoon as the Arsenal midfielder turned 28.

The Liverpool star won’t be in action until Monday night, when Jurgen Klopp’s side host their bitter rivals Manchester United at Anfield.

Can enjoyed success over Ozil and his Arsenal colleagues earlier this year when Liverpool were 4-3 winners against their top-four rivals at the Emirates Stadium.

The Germany international was a second-half substitute for the Merseyside outfit in north London but Can has struggled with an injury since August.

The 22-year-old was part of Joachim Low’s squad for this summer’s European championship as he got to spend some time with his Arsenal rival.

And Can posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption to celebrate Ozil’s 28th birthday on Saturday afternoon:

“No reason for being so serious! It is your birthday Mesut Özil!! Happy B-Day bro! #MesutÖzil #BDay #SeriousLooking #EC23”

Liverpool will be hoping to record their fifth successive Premier League win on Monday night when Klopp’s side take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United outfit.
