The Arsenal summer signing is eager to get back on the pitch
Granit Xhaka says he will return to Arsenal first-team action well-rested as the summer signing continues to serve his three-game suspension.
The Switzerland international was sent off in the second half of the north London side’s 3-2 victory over Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium earlier this month.
Xhaka was forced to sit out Arsenal’s frustrating goalless draw with Middlesbrough in the English top flight on Saturday afternoon.
The defensive midfielder won’t be available for Arsenal’s trip to the Premier League’s basement club Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this weekend.
However, Xhaka is excited to get back on the pitch in an Arsenal shirt as the Swiss midfielder looks to make amends for his sending off.
The £33m summer signing posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“👉I will be back in a week, well trained and eager to play!
Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season behind champions Leicester City.
The Gunners are level on points with leaders Manchester City and third-placed Liverpool after nine games.
