Daniel Sturridge reached a career landmark with his goal for England against Malta
Daniel Sturridge has taken to social media to thank his England and club team-mates after reaching a milestone on Saturday night.
The Liverpool striker found the net as he helped England record a 2-0 win over Malta in their 2018 World Cup qualifier at Wembley on Saturday night.
That strike took him onto a grand total of 100 career goals for club and country.
And the milestone did not pass the striker by, as he used his social media accounts to mark the achievement on Sunday morning.
Sturridge posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “God’s work. Thanks to all the players that helped me along the way ❤️”
The striker will be hoping to feature for Liverpool when the Reds return to Premier League action after the international break with a crunch clash against bitter rivals Manchester United at Anfield next Monday.
The Reds are currently two points behind leaders Manchester City in the top flight table after seven games of the new Premier League season.
