Matteo Darmian was all smiles with Juan Mata as the Manchester United duo posed for a selfie after Wednesday night’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City.

The Red Devils ended a three-game winless run thanks to Mata’s second-half goal which booked United’s place in the League Cup quarter-final draw.

Italy international Darmian was an unused substitute in the EFL Cup clash as manager Jose Mourinho started Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia at full-back.

Mata, meanwhile, was restored to the starting line-up after the Spain international started Sunday’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on the bench.

Even though Darmian didn’t get any first-team minutes on Wednesday night, the United defender was still in good form as he posed for a selfie with the match-winner.

The Italian posted the above snap on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“Well Done Lads 🔴@juanmatagarcia ⚽️#manchesterunited”

United are in seventh place in the Premier League table and six points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
