Loris Karius has taken to Instagram to celebrate his first Premier League clean sheet after Liverpool’s goalless draw with Manchester United.

The Germany Under-21 international retained his starting spot ahead of Simon Mignolet for the visit of Jose Mourinho’s side at Anfield on Monday night.

And Karius enjoyed a quiet evening despite a couple of nervous moments from Jurgen Klopp’s summer signing in front of the Kop.

However, the 23-year-old managed to keep Liverpool’s first clean sheet of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign so far, providing a positive in an otherwise disappointing 90 minutes.

And Karius took to his Instagram page to post the above photo as the Liverpool number one celebrated the special feat.

He wrote: “My first clean sheet in the @premierleague ✔😉 We’d have deserved more than a draw… Once again it was an amazing feeling to play in front of all you Reds! 👏🏼🔴 #LFCvMUFC #Anfield #YNWA #LFC @liverpoolfc”

The former Manchester City youth player moved to Liverpool in a £4.7m deal from Bundesliga side Mainz O5 in the summer transfer window.
