Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took to social media to pay tribute to Carl Jenkinson after the defender made his first-team comeback for Arsenal in Tuesday night’s League Cup victory over Reading.

Jenkinson missed most of this year’s action after being sidelined with a knee injury and having his loan spell at West Ham United cut short.

The defender played the full 90 minutes as Oxlade-Chamberlain scored twice to hand Arsenal a 2-0 victory over Reading at The Emirates to book the Gunners’ place in the quarter-finals.

And Oxlade-Chamberlain had a special message for Jenkinson after he made his comeback on Tuesday night.

The midfielder posted the picture above of the duo chilling in The Emirates dressing room on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “So happy to see my boy @carljenkinson back on the pitch tonight! Welcome back bro 😬👊🏽”
