Ray Parlour makes title prediction about Chelsea under Antonio Conte

The former Arsenal midfielder delivers his verdict on Chelsea's Premier League title prospects

Ray Parlour believes Chelsea are genuine Premier League title contenders under Antonio Conte this season.

The west London side were impressive 4-0 winners against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge last weekend thanks to goals from Pedro Rodriguez, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante.

Chelsea are in fourth place in the Premier League table and a point behind leaders Manchester City after nine top-flight games so far this season.

The Blues made an impressive start to the 2016-17 season after three successive Premier League victories over West Ham United, Watford and Burnley.

However, Chelsea failed to win a top-flight game in September after a stalemate with Swansea City before back-to-back defeats by Liverpool and Arsenal.

Antonio Conte’s side have responded in style, though, after Chelsea eased to comfortable wins against Hull City, defending champions Leicester City and title rivals Manchester United.

Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is refusing to rule out the west London side in the Premier League title race.

“I still think Chelsea can get a good run going and be there or thereabouts at the end of the season,” Parlour told the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast.

“People thought they had a few sticky results and Chelsea aren’t the team we thought they were. I really believe without European football, they’ll have a real chance.”
