Ray Parlour: Why I’d take Tottenham star over Man United’s Paul Pogba
The Arsenal legend is a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli
Ray Parlour believes Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has a better all-round game than Manchester United record-signing Paul Pogba.
The England international has been in impressive form in the Premier League in recent weeks after scoring against Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion.
Alli was voted the PFA young player of the year last season after the Tottenham midfielder scored 10 goals in 33 Premier League appearances in his first campaign in the English top flight.
Pogba moved to the Red Devils in a world-record £89m transfer from Serie A giants Juventus in August.
However, the France international has only scored one goal in six Premier League appearances so far, scoring United’s fourth goal in a 4-1 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour has claimed that Alli has the edge over United’s record signing.
“Dele Alli is superb. The debate was Alli or Pogba. A lot of people would go with Alli,” Parlour told Alan Brazil Up Front podcast.
“He has a knack of getting into the right areas and scoring a goal. He is an all-round good footballer.
“Spurs have a real gem in their side. What a signing for £5m from MK Dons.”
Alli moved to Tottenham in a £5m deal from MK Dons in 2015.
The Tottenham star has already scored two goals in 15 appearances for the England national team.
