Roy Evans shares what Liverpool must do this season ahead of Man United clash
Roy Evans says Liverpool must become more consistent in the Premier League this season
Roy Evans believes that Liverpool will be serious contenders for the Premier League title this season – as long as they are able to become more consistent.
The Reds have made a strong start to the new campaign and currently sit in fourth place in the top flight table, just two points behind leaders Manchester City after seven games.
Jurgen Klopp has been tasked with steering Liverpool back into the Premier League’s top four this season after their disappointing eighth-placed finish last term.
The Reds currently have their attentions firmly fixed on their forthcoming crunch clash against Manchester United at Anfield in the top flight next Monday night.
And although former Liverpool star Evans has been pleased with what he has seen from the Reds so far this season, he wants them to become more consistent.
Speaking in an interview with The Liverpool Echo, Evans said: “So far, so good, I’ve been delighted with what I’ve seen from Jurgen’s team. I’m enjoying watching them and they seem to play with that little bit of freedom.
“Just occasionally they become a little bit inconsistent but if we can get rid of that we can be a force to be reckoned with. I think Jurgen’s done fantastically in his first year, he’s got all the fans on his side.
“I like what he says about people enjoying their football and the players enjoying their games.
“He talks a lot of sense and he’s passionate about the game.”
Liverpool were 2-1 winners at Swansea City in their most recent Premier League outing before the international break.
