Ryan Giggs criticises Man United signing over Eden Hazard exchange
The Manchester United legend has plenty to say about Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Ryan Giggs admits he wasn’t impressed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s post-match embrace with Eden Hazard after Manchester United lost 4-0 at Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Pedro Rodriguez, Gary Cahill, Hazard and N’Golo Kante sealed an emphatic win for Antonio Conte’s side over their Premier League title rivals in west London.
Ibrahimovic swapped shirts with Brazil and Chelsea forward Willian following the final whistle before the 35-year-old exchanged pleasantries with Hazard in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
However, former United midfielder Giggs felt Ibrahimovic and his United team-mates should have acknowledged their rivals with a handshake and paid tribute to the travelling supporters before making a hasty exit at Stamford Bridge.
“You can get beat in a football match, but then when you’re getting beat and you’re swapping shirts, that is something I don’t like,” Giggs told Premier League TV as quoted by ESPN.
“If you get beat 4-0, you congratulate the opposition, you thank the supporters and then you get off the pitch.
“You don’t stand around on the pitch swapping shirts and laughing with the team that’s just beat you.”
Chelsea are in fourth place in the Premier League table and a point behind leaders Manchester City.
United, though, are six points adrift of the Citizens after nine Premier League games.
The Red Devils will host promoted side Burnley in their next Premier League fixture at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
