Santi Cazorla reveals what Arsenal players think about Arsene Wenger’s potential new deal
Santi Cazorla discusses Arsene Wenger's contract situation at Arsenal
Santi Cazorla has insisted that Arsenal’s players are fully expecting to see Arsene Wenger commit his future to the north London club beyond this season.
The Frenchman’s situation at Arsenal has been a source of speculation this season after the manager ended into the final year of his contract with the Gunners.
Wenger has not yet given any clear indication of whether he plans to extend his contract beyond next summer and it remains to be seen if he will still be in charge come next August.
However, Arsenal playmaker Cazorla says that he and his Gunners team-mates expect Wenger to stay on at The Emirates and pen a new deal before the start of next season.
Speaking in an interview with Cope, Cazorla said: “The truth is we do not have that feeling in the dressing room. The boss has not indicated that this will be his last year. Not at all.
“He is fully focused on this season and I do not know what he is planning for the future. Today I do not rule him continuing another season because he has not said he will leave.
“It is in his hands and he is the one who has to make the decision but today I would say that he may continue.”
Arsenal have made a strong start to the new Premier League season and are currently in third place in the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Manchester City.
