Stan Collymore: Why I want Arsenal to win Premier League title
The Liverpool legend wants Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season
Stan Collymore says he wants Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners are third favourites to win the top-flight crown behind leaders Manchester City and Collymore’s former employers Liverpool.
The north London side finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but 10 points adrift of champions Leicester City.
Arsene Wenger signed five players in the summer transfer window as the Arsenal manager looked to build on their second-place finish.
Granit Xhaka was signed in a £33m deal from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach at the start of the summer.
Germany centre-half Shkodran Mustafi and uncapped Spanish forward Lucas Perez completed big-money moves to Arsenal in the final week of the transfer window.
Former Liverpool striker Collymore explained why he would like to see Wenger and his Arsenal players win the Premier League title this season.
“I want Arsenal to win the Premier League as a representation of what the Premier League should be about in the modern era: fast-paced football on the deck with some world-class talent,” Collymore told BBC Radio Five Live.
Wenger has one year remaining on his current contract.
