Theo Walcott makes promise to Arsenal fans after strong start

Theo Walcott discusses his strong start to the new season with Arsenal

Theo Walcott has promised Arsenal fans that he will continue to work as hard as ever despite his strong start to the season.

The England international has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the north London club so far this season and has helped to fire Arsene Wenger’s men to five consecutive Premier League wins.

Walcott has had his fair share of criticism over the years for failing to perform consistently for Arsenal since his move from Southampton in 2006.

And although Walcott has made a solid start to the new campaign, he insists that he will not be resting on his laurels this season.

Walcott is quoted as saying by TEAMtalk: “Obviously my football is going well at this moment in time. We all know it can change but I’m in the frame of mind where I don’t want it to stop.

“It can be easy when things are going well to take your foot off the gas slightly, but I’ve been around the game a long time, I don’t want that to happen.

“I’m working tremendously hard. I just want to be better than the opposition I’m against, come training, come match day.

“It’s stuff people don’t really see but deep down you know you’re ready for the match.

“I’m just doing the small things that add up. It comes down to myself, how determined I am.”

Walcott will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Swansea City.
