Thibaut Courtois opens up about Jose Mourinho ahead of Chelsea v Man United
Thibaut Courtois says Jose Mourinho will not be out for revenge with Manchester United
Thibaut Courtois has insisted that Jose Mourinho is not out for revenge when he takes his Manchester United side to Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Portuguese coach is preparing to return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since his sacking by Chelsea back in December of last year.
Mourinho has since been appointed as the new man in charge at Old Trafford and is now gearing his side up for their trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The former Chelsea boss is likely to get a warm reception at The Bridge from the Blues supporters as he comes back to the club as manager of another Premier League team for the first time.
However, Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois has dismissed any suggestion of Mourinho being out to gain revenge on his former employers this weekend.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Courtois said: “I don’t think he has a revenge feeling in him.
“I think he just wants to show everyone he’s a good manager and he wants to do well for his current team.
“If you want to do well with your current team then you have to win big games. He wants to win. We want to win.
“I don’t think the players have a feeling they want to win because of him – players just want to win because we play a top team in Manchester United. It’s a special game.”
Chelsea head into the game on the back of wins over Hull City and Leicester City.
