Thierry Henry has admitted that he has been very impressed by Sadio Mane’s impact since signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The attacker has been a regular fixture in the Liverpool first team under Jurgen Klopp as he continues to get to grips with life on Merseyside following his summer move.

Mane has scored three goals and made one assist in seven Premier League games for the Reds so far this season and played the full 90 minutes during the goalless draw with Manchester United at Anfield on Monday night.

The 24-year-old appears to be a firm favourite of Klopp at Anfield, and Henry has admitted that he would have hated to play against the Senegal international.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Arsenal legend Henry said: “No disrespect to Southampton, you can clearly see he does it to another level now with better players around him,’ Henry told Sky Sports.

“I wouldn’t like to play against him. He’s always coming back.

“And, something that’s been gone in the game, he wants the ball at his feet, but he also wants to run in behind, every single time, and that creates fear.”
